This dust collector for dewalt saw is a game changer in terms of dust control. Very happy how little sawdust flies out in the the workshop when cutting wood. So much better for my lungs. If the plastic parts resists the stress of time this dust collector will be one of the best investment I made for my health.

Installation is pretty straight forward. Just an FYI, the video should state that the side fences need to be moved outward to avoid the black rubber piece from pinching causing the saw blade to cut it on the back slide.

First the bad: getting the metal part off of the miter saw was difficult. The two screws on mine were extremely tight. I had to use an impact driver to get them off. Without that, I would have had to return it.
The good news is that it seems to work pretty well. I haven't used it a lot, but the test cuts I ran picked up a heck of a lot more dust than the original bag would grab.

Easy to install. Much better than the snorkel. Gained some space behind the rails. A retired house vacuum hose fit onto the collector so didn't need any adaptors or short hose included in the kit.

I love this dust collector. I broke the first one (100% my fault) so I got a replacement. I started my project just before it arrived and finished after I installed the collector. There is a HUGE improvement over the factory setup. I tell anyone I know with a miter saw that they need one.

I really wanted this to work but the dust shoots backwards and hits the angled rear portion of the saw base and it acts as a ramp and blows the dust everywhere, worse than the factory set up. The rubber shield is not long or wide enough.

It was fairly easy to install, seems to work pretty well better than the original one that came with the saw. Also, I’m able to put the saw about 8 inches closer to the wall which in the size of my shop makes a big difference. Overall, so far I like it.

I put a reply on face book about this product. It was a very positive one. I have purchased a few products I have seen on face book before and was mostly disappointed. Not so in this case. The product worked better than I expected and installed easily. Hardly any dust outside of the saw. The dust collector attachment that was installed on this Dewalt saw was useless. It was like trying to throw a cat through a screen door. I would highly recommend this attachment to any one.

Does a nice job minimizing the sawdust mess. I wasn’t impressed with short hose. The thin rubber surrounding the coils I thought inadequate and cheap. Replaced it with a 3’ section of white corrugated pool filter hose. Fits snuggly into my shop vac hose.

We love this saw but the dust collection on it seemed like an afterthought. We tried using a wet/dry vac as well as a Festool CT 48 with better but still sub par results. We had the idea to hook it up to the main dust collector but how to do it cleanly and efficiently and without using the factory dust shoot. I remembered seeing your products in a sponsored ad on Instagram and liking your page so I decided to give it a try. The results are amazing, better than we expected. The Dewalt sliding compound miter saw was purchased specifically to be used with the Shop Nation product, not the other way around. Neither product disappointed. The dust collection chute was easy to install using the video. I use a Festool vacuum. The Shop Nation chute collects about 70% of the cuttings and replaces the long collection bag provided with the saw allowing me to use the large saw on my workbench. I would have had to purchase the Bosch otherwise; my second choice.

This upgrade which replaces the stock DWS780 dust collection system works very well and overall I am pleased with my purchase! The collection adapter, flex hose, and hose connections are rock solid.
There are two suggestions I would make:
1) In order to gain proper access to the left hand mounting screw, I had to remove an additional spring loaded metal piece. This was not shown in the video.
2) I would also strengthen the flexible shroud (the ~3x5" black rubber piece), particularly in the 4 little screws holding it to the collector. After adding an auxiliary fence and making a few cuts, the shroud caught on the fence while sliding and ripped out of one of the screws! Good thing 2 of these shrouds were included!
Some may call this a feature, but to me, it could use some improvement by: making the shroud material a little tougher to withstand getting snagged on an auxiliary fence and/or a toughen the attachment method to the collector.

I'm not impressed. The way the duct area is reduced though the squared up section it reduces are flow and reduces suction. It also makes it difficult to replace the blade.

The install was simple. I connected to my dust collection system with a 2 1/2 inch flex hose plugged into a 4 inch main line. I have been cutting dimensional lumber with very little dust escaping.

So far I am thrilled. I have mounted the dust collector which fit great. The how to video was helpful. If you have torx screwdrivers they will be better than if you have sockets. One to two test cuts and I can already tell it is infinitely better than the stock set up!

Installed the upgrade before watching the install video. I couldn't scan the QR code because I don't have a smart phone. Darlene sent me the utube link to the video. I wanted to view that before trying out the upgrade to see if I missed anything. The only thing I did differently was not reusing the screws that held on the rear blade guard. I didn't think they had enough thread engagement. I bought longer socket head cap screws (20mm) at the hardware store and used those. Tried it out yesterday with Festool CT36. It works GREAT. Thanks

Dust collection is amazing. My only issue is that I have to loosen it up some in order to change the blade on my saw. I cannot do it while the dust collector is firmly attached.
